Aquarian Bath's Berry Hibiscus tooth powder a non-abrasive all natural toothpaste alternative. It is especially good for those with sensitive gums. It is made with a food grade Bentonite Clay and Organic Hibiscus sabdariffa flower and Organic Hawthorn Berry base for flavor, with added Activated Coconut Charcoal and Myrhh 5:1 extract powder. You might be familiar with Hibiscus sabdariffa by some of it's other names such as Roselle or Jamaica Flower. It is tart like a sour berry and high in Vitamin C. A small amount of Organic Stevia* is included to balance the tartness of the Hibiscus. The Clay and Charcoal help to detoxify and wash away bacteria from the mouth. The Myrrh 5:1 extract powder is non-abrasive and helps to gently tone the gums. This is a refill which comes in a clear biodegradable cellophane bag and 2 oz or 60 g of powder. You can also keep it in small jelly jar in your bathroom.
Because of the charcoal ingredient, you do need to take a little extra care to rinse your mouth completely, or there may be a bit of residue. It does rinse very cleanly however and leaves teeth feeling smooth. I love this formula because there is no baking soda. I have used baking soda in the past in other tooth powder formulas, and it started taking enamel off of my teeth. You can pinch a small amount into your palm, and then dab your wet tooth brush onto the powder. This is all natural with no preservatives, so do not add water to the jar of dry powder.
*CAUTION: Do not use this product if you are allergic to stevia. Consuming Stevia has been known in rare cases to cause allergic reactions, but more commonly in people who have allergy to chrysanthemums, marigolds, ragweed or daisies. An allergic reaction to stevia may result in difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, hives, dizziness, pale skin, wheezing, weakness, or in extreme cases anaphalaxis.
